Chief Executive Officer of Quincy Herbal products, Dr. Quincy Ayodele was today conferred with ambassadorial award by Center for Change in Lagos.
The maker of Quincy traditional health remedy from Nigeria, a brand which is now embraced internationally was recognized for her resilience in pushing the advocacy and acting for adoption of organic products from Nigeria.
Convener of the Center for Change, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, who conferred Quincy with the Change Ambassadorial award, applauded the feat, while commending that the accomplishment came from a woman. Dr. Okei-Odumakin emphasized that the Change her organization ministers, away from political slogan, is the individual quests for development that got accomplished by their actions. She commended Dr. Quincy for her envisioning of a Nigerian alternative of organic medical product, and her tenacity to achieve same.
In her acceptance response, Dr. Quincy appreciated Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin and her team at the Center for Change. She related her resolve to relaunch the advocacy for adoption of local Herbal remedies as a nationally endorsed health alternatives. Quincy also asked for advocacy support from the Center for Change to give the message a voice. The Herbal medical practitioner assured that her product has been clinically screened and also gained international acceptance. She explained that a bill for adoption of locally made and approved medical products had been at the National Assembly since 2004, but have not been passed. She stressed that other countries including Ghana have passed similar bills had are exporting their products.
“I made this submission prior to the recession tat Nigeria has great income potential in Herbal products, but they refused our submissions”, she lamented.
“But I’m glad that my products have become an internationally accepted brand”, she cheered.
Quincy promised to live up to responsibility as an ambassador of change in Nigeria, as members of the Center for Change assured a relaunch support for the advocacy on the bill to approve adoption of genuine Herbal products made in Nigeria.
